BIO:

Retired Sergeant with Twenty-eight years of diverse law enforcement experience: patrol, criminal investigations, civil litigation investigation, subject matter expert, trainer and supervisor. The last five years of my career was as the Academy Coordinator for the Recruit Training Academy; Supervising a staff of six Recruit Training Officers and classes of 60 to 120 recruits. Oversaw all areas of training and responsible for ensuring all CA POST and Department requirements were met over the course of the 22-week academy. Primary Instructor for search & seizure, emergency management (anti-terrorism, IED, HazMat), tactics, off-duty/career survival, ethics and leadership. Oversaw development of instructional materials and proper implementation of training schedule. Supervised rewrite of 880 hours of instructional material to meet the new POST requirements as of February 2017. I have testified as a SME in Federal and State Courts. Department representative to POST Advisory Board.

Former active duty US Marine who served on Special Reaction Team and Marine Corps Rifle Team. Transitioned to Navy Reserve as an Intelligence Specialist with a TS/SCI clearance. Qualified Special Warfare and Ground Combat Intelligence Specialist. Expeditionary Warfare Specialist, Fleet Marine Force and OIF veteran.

Competitive shooter who has won military, state, national and international titles. Distinguished Marksman and Distinguished Pistol Shot. Firearms instructor for military, law enforcement and civilian personnel.

Because of my diverse background I have been able to successfully merge my first-hand real world experience to engage my students/recruits and encouraged them to drive themselves to achieve more than what they thought possible and instilled self-confidence.

Personal training includes tactics courses, civil and use of force investigations, instructor development, armorer and supervisory courses.
