Considering the new “rule” for braces, do you think AR pistols are still viable defensive tools? Or, have they become novelty items without a brace?

Ralph L: 

H, again gentlemen. We’re all familiar with the concept of a cap gun – I had an idea for an improved cap gun that is higher quality and feels more realistic. It would use primed 22lr cases (no powder, no projectile) for the pop. For safety, I would install a set screw into each chamber from the muzzle end to restrict the chamber length so that a 22lr case will chamber but a 22 short cartridge would be too long. Then I would have to drill a hole down the middle of each set screw for pressure release. Then to really be sure no projectiles can be fired, a set screw could be threaded into the muzzle, again drilled with a smaller hole for the pressure to exit. Then stick a orange muzzle cap on and use it responsibly outdoors. I assume the small amount of toxic gas is the biggest risk. Thoughts? Did I overlook anything? Appreciate you guys.

458 socom hits really hard. What can I do to reduce the felt recoil? Adaptive tactical butt stock is already installed. Could this be over gassed?
