For your emergency plans (both natural or manmade disaster) what is your cut off for people you can support with your network? I ve been thinking about different scenarios lately and how overburdened my emergency supplies might be if I have to also support in-laws and/or other extended family my wife won’t turn away.

And I hate to say it, but where do you draw the line? My wife’s gma is 93 but she grew up in the depression and might know of some essentials (canning/gardening) that I honestly have no time or brain capacitance left to learn. Others could be justified with benefit over cost, but I don’t think I could have the capability of supporting 20 others that have no provisions using my supplies I have for my immediate family.

Curious on your thoughts.

What do you think the best ar15 sized caliber for hunting deer or hog sized game is?

Need some opinions, gentlemen. I carry a Glock 45 appendix but it’s a little heavy and bulky with how much I move around during the day. I’m a Glock fanboy so I figured I’ll just go for the smallest Glock for ultimate comfort and mobility, that way I won’t be reluctant to carry. I don’t have any other .380 so it’s another cartridge I need to stock for training, and it penetrates about 3 inches less from my testing. Am I crazy to get the 42 over the 43 for the weight and size savings?

I have an AK in 7.62×39 that I Intend on being a suppressor host. I brought it to a local shop that specializes in AK patterns near me and had them cut the barrel to 13.9 pin and weld with a break that extends 2.2 inches for an OAL of 16.1. The problem I have is that the muzzle break they chose is threaded 1/2×28… My question for the cast is whether or not a 1/2×28 pin and weld thread pitch is too thin at the muzzle for a suppressor to be added on? Or instead should I SBR my rifle, cut it to 12.5 and thread a new muzzle device on, if so what threading?

13×1 RH?

9/16×24 RH?

14×1 LH?

5/8×24 is too big for my barrel size, My barrel measures at 14.7mm or .58″ width.

Finally is a LH thread a bad thing for a right hand QD Deadair Sandman S?

Why all the hate on bullpups? For me, they seem like a win-win, with at least a 16 inch barrel (no tax stamp!), and still almost as short overall as an AR pistol, and with better handling due to weight distribution. PLUS all that ambi goodness!

I drooled over the desert tech MDRX until I found the Springfield Hellion (aka VHS2) and want to hug and squeeze one and call it “George”. Unfortunately I live in the fascist state of Washington where apparently bullpups were banned even before the latest AWB so all I can do is dream about them and/or dream about moving somewhere else.

Thoughts on bullpups? Are any of them as good as I imagine them to be? Why aren’t they more popular?
