Which would you get, AP5 (MP5) or AP5-P (MP5K)?

Jack B: 

I have an itch for a savage 99. What do you think of them? I’m mainly only interested in one in either 308 or 243. But how accurate can I expect it to be? If I go for a 243 and it’s not as accurate as a decent bolt action, I’m going to be very sad. With the 308 there’s more leeway, it only has to match a decent semi-auto.

On that note, what’s your favorite caliber and why? I could probably be talked into something else if the ammo is reasonably available and has good performance. My intended use, to be honest, is going to be a long range paper puncher. But I’d like it to be capable of taking whitetail, hogs, coyotes, and/or varmints. I have never varmint hunted, but some day I might. For reference, here’s every caliber that I know they chambered them in. I’m simply not familiar with most of these.

.30-30 Winchester – As much as I like the 30-30, all the ammo will be round tip which eliminates one of the advantages of the 99.

So I have a random AR-15 stripped upper and am thinking about my next build. I’m actually leaning towards a build in 6.5 Grendel with a 20″ barrel. Do any of you have any experience shooting 6.5 Grendel? How well does it do accuracy wise? I noticed ammo for it online isn’t all that bad priced either which is what changed my mind on building a 450 bushmaster. Use for it would be primarily target practice out to 300-400yrds with the thought of using it for an intermediate range rifle that hits harder than 5.56 if I needed to make a longer shot in minecraft/shtf what have ya.

Where do you guys go to sell a firearm? I have an eye disorder that has progressed to the point that long range shooting is now more frustrating than enjoyable. I have very nice long range rig, totaling around $4500. I have been listing it on armslist for almost a year at $4000, expecting to get no more than $3700. And the only inquiries I’ve gotten have been trades for “custom” 224 valkyries. And I don’t really want to take it to a gun shop and get 40% of its value.

Thanks to brownells (shawn helped too) I was able to a M&P M2.0 Compact Optic Ready 9mm for dirt cheap. I plan on upgrading the barrel to a threaded one, question is what manufacturers to look at. I also want to get a can for it, but what ones are good (not heavy or overly long). This will be an edc pistol but I still need that hush puppy in my life. Yes I can have a can unlike savage but save you can come over anytime to fondle my forbidden popsicles.
