Just finishing up my 300 black out pistol build. This is my 3rd AR build and I haven’t run into this issue before. The bolt catch on the newly assembled 300 does not want to catch and hold the bolt back. This isn’t something that is only happening on an empty mag but if I physically push the bolt catch in and release the charging handle it’ll barely catch and any slight bump to the gun drops the bolt. I have swapped uppers between guns to test out the parts to find the issue but the problem stops. I changed out the bolt catch to an upgraded catch from the milspec and still have the issue. It seems to only happen when the upper I built for the 300 and the lower I built for the 300 are put together. Could this be a receiver issue? I’m at a loss. Any advice you guys might have would be greatly appreciated. Love the show. Keep up the great work. Thanks.

Long Term ammo storage in cars (pistol/rifle)

What is your take on long term (more than 2 years) ammo storage in vehicles? The vehicle would be subject to summer temperatures in the mid 90F and winter temps in the low 30’sF. yearly mileage would be about 30K also be used for daily commuting. Do you think the temperature swings and vibration over time will cause the ammo to degrade over time?

I’m concerned these effects may degrade the powder to a point it may cause an over pressure condition.”

I have been given the opportunity to become a firearms instructor at my current job. While I have experience working with new shooters and training with friends, I have never taught in a class setting. Do y’all have any good resources for new instructors to help build lesson plans and learn how to tailor teaching to different students? Any tips for becoming a better instructor?
