Privately made firearm serialization when bequeathing in a Will.

Dear WLS. I have five privately made firearms; two are Polymer 80 handguns and three are non-NFA semi-auto carbines (a STEN, a PPS-43, and an Uzi).

I intend to bequeath the firearms in my Will to my kids, but in case they elect to later sell them I’m considering serializing the firearms.

My questions are:

1) Is it just a “”unique to me”” number I need to engrave on each firearm, or do I also need to include my name and city of manufacture? (a reminder: these are non-NFA)

2) If the city of manufacture is needed, is it problematic if the city now has an Assault Weapon ordinance that bans the three carbines. (it is a city ordinance, not a county or state ordinance)?

3) Do gun stores typically perform such engraving, or would I need to go to a more specialized service provider?

Hey guys, how deep into the rabbit hole do your go when you clean your firearms? For example: The rifles that are in your safe, do you clean them by every range trip, or do you clean them by round count? Do you perform a quick clean or a thorough clean? Do you spend a lot of time getting copper and carbon out of the barrels, or just run a bore snake and it’s all fine? I just wanted to hear everyone’s take on what you personally do.
