Welcome to Double Tap, episode 383! Your hosts tonight are Jeremy Pozderac, Aaron Krieger, Nick Lynch, and me Shawn Herrin, welcome to the show!

Dear WLS

  • Dan R – With all of the hurricane damage going on. How many NFA items have been washed away, never to be seen again. what would you do in this situation, where you can’t provide your documentation because it was also destroyed. Interested in hearing your thoughts on this.

  • Ginger SlappHey fuckers, Just listening to DT378 and there was a question about a BDC for 45-70 Gubment. Vortex has the Crossfire® II 3-9×50 Straight-Wall BDC: https://vortexoptics.com/crossfire-ii-3-9×50-straightwall-bdc.html And Leupold has the VX Freedom 3-9×40 450 Bushmaster: https://www.leupold.com/vx-freedom-3-9×40-450-bushmaster-duplex-riflescope While I think it is impossible to make a generic BDC that is perfect for every combination of gun/bullet, I think they would be good enough to kill Bambi. I zeroed the vortex on a 45-70 and it was pretty close to the stated range at the given subtensions. This message brought to you by your friendly neighborhood paint slinger.

P.S. I wore my Camorado Radical Boog shirt to a wedding this weekend. Big hit. Felt cute.

P.P.S. Death By Drone should be the name of a metal band.

P.P.P.S. I burgle turds like you for breakfast.

  • Dimb Koke – Would plates or just ar steel be better to surround a bed with? Was watching 48 hrs and seen one where a kid took a stray bullet to head though a wall or two. Been thinking of this since then.

  • Roger B – I have a matador Montgo 9 that I can’t get to run at all in my ar lower. I’ve tried a heavier hammer spring and I got two rounds to go off but that’s it. I’ve contacted matador multiple times and called but still my upper still won’t run. I was going to get the new Mat-9 upper from them but I don’t want to spend another $500 and have two uppers not working. What are your thoughts on what I should do and do you think I should still get the mat9 upper?

  • Matt G – Howdy guys and Aaron, Can yall tell us your favorite gun you own in each of the following categories? North American big game hunting. (And for Jeramy big game is Elk/Moose/bear) Waterfowl hunting. Range toy. And finally, the gun you want the ATF to frame your suicide with.

  • Frank C – I picked up a colt 1911 in .22 caliber that has parts missing. My question is, can this be converted to. 45 or 9mm? Do you know a good company to order parts from? If i can’t convert it, do you know anyone good company to order a rebuild kit from? Thanks 4 squares.

  • Daniel A – Would a Swampfox Blade be good on a 350 legend ar15 for close hunting? We hunt our deer in Mississippi with dogs and sometimes a shotgun won’t reach.

  • Steve B – I know that Black Rhino is a sponsor however do any of you have experience with the Phlster Floodlight 2? I was looking for a universal type holster to use at the range and since it uses retention based on the light it will fit most compact and full size guns and still seems to provide full coverage to the trigger guard. This way I can use one holster and just attach the various Streamlight TLR-1HLs to them and be good to go for a quick range session. Awesome show and can’t wait to hear your responses sometime in the next 6-9 months.
