This episode of Double Tap is brought to you by: Brownells, Midwest Industries, Gideon Optics, Medical Gear Outfitters, XTech Tactical, and Bowers Group

Welcome to Double Tap, episode 372! Your hosts tonight are Jeremy Pozderac, Aaron Krieger, Nick Lynch, and me Shawn Herrin, welcome to the show!

Dear WLS

  • Shit the bed Fred – I’ll do my best to make this a question. I enjoy all the guns and gear content and talk about issues in the 2A space, however, why can’t you refrain from the hunting talk that sounds so uninformed that it makes one second guess your competence in all other topics? Especially Shawn. Love the show and get my hunting content elsewhere.

  • John Dough – Suppose that, in minecraft, a person wanted to incapacitate another person without killing them or making a mess, by striking them with a hard object like a rock, frying pan, revolver, flashlight, etc. How would a person train for this, in minecraft of course? Can you suggest any feasible means to determine the force required without resorting to hobo hunting in minecraft. Watermelons? Coconuts? Those ballistic skulls that Gay-rand Thumb uses? Thanks for the show, except Aaron, he can fuck right off.

  • James A – Wasn’t the show sponsored by My Patriot Supply and Kenaz Tactical at one time? What happened to them?

  • Scott G – Episode 570 you “ aired out partners you don’t work with anymore “ and I for one appreciate the honesty. My question is the Gideon/ swampfox scenario is weird. Your talk and attitude about swampfox has changed and you pump up gideon hard. Listeners lost the good coupon code and they get less and less air time.Something is off. Keep up the honesty we appreciate it.

  • Josh – Why you quit working with….NAGRFPCCheaper than dirtNutrient survival

  • Ray C – Ever since they changed the 4473 a couple years ago I get REALLY confused every time I fill one out. I’m currently identifying as a hispanic/latino and checking native American AND white boxes, since I’m part native, part conquistador. Is it wrong for me to consider myself a cracker now instead of just a beaner? Can I deny my landscaper american roots? Did the George Zimmerman “white hispanic” thing change all the rules? And here’s a tongue twister for Jeremy – How much hood did the hood rat gat when the hood rat did gat hood?

  • Duke of Crude – Hey fam,Since they had a special edition 1911 for Donald Trump being the 45th president, what would each of you pick for a Joe Biden edition and/or a Kamala edition fire arm? What special features would you add to it to make it commemorative? Thanks for the laughs!Duke

  • Chris L – So not so long ago, Shawn mentioned that, at the request of the listeners, he would be more vocal about the comings and goings of advertisers. THEN, out of the blue, I start listening to a recent episode and the whole cast basically in unison goes “THE OPTIC SPONSOR IS DEAD. LONG LIVE THE OPTIC SPONSOR.” Okay I’m exaggerating, however if you haven’t touched on this already, I’m sure people are curious. Either that or I’m losing my mind and the inter dimensional lizard overlords Mandela affected my ass. Thanks for your time. Toodles.

  • Chuck – I wanted to ask about a product you reviewed a while back – I have heard no follow up reviews on the product. The Rix Optics Thermal scopes – I contacted them and exchanges an email or two – but looking for a review over time or if you all found out that it was not as good as originally reported? Looking to invest in a thermal but wanted to see what the longevity or other issues you might have had?

  • Garth – Dear WLS,I am a new podcaster, almost four years now this January. I’m full of vigor and spunk. I was told I was headed in the direction of being the next Aaron unless I changed my ways. So now I’m closer to a Rod Farva. Are there any tricks to the trade to being a better Podcaster so I can bring more attention to the show I am apart of?Sincerely, semi annual listenerGarth

Gun Industry News

  • Keystone Arms is now shipping the Mini 1903-A3, a small, single-shot rifle designed for youth shooters. It looks like the classic 1903-A3 and has a 16.5-inch threaded barrel for suppressors. It weighs 3 lbs 6 oz and costs $449. This rifle is part of a line of mini military replicas and is aimed at helping kids learn to shoot while honoring a historical design. The Mini 1903-A3 is available now.

  • The Tisas PX-5.7 is a new budget-friendly 5.7mm pistol priced at $399, with an optics-ready version for $439. It features a QPQ-treated slide and a cold hammer-forged barrel, offering good performance for a lower price. The pistol is tested against armor and shows potential for those wanting to try the 5.7x28mm round. It’s available now.

  • Rosco Manufacturing has released a new limited edition 11.5” Husky heavy barrel for AR-15 rifles, priced at $173. This barrel is designed for precision shooting, featuring a phosphate coating and chrome-lined chamber for durability. It’s heavier than some of Rosco’s other barrels but helps reduce heat and improve accuracy. Currently, the 11.5” and 14.5” models are available, but they are limited, so they might sell out fast.

  • Sebastian Unger created a new recoil-reducing stock for the Benelli M4 shotgun to lessen painful recoil when shooting slugs. This stock uses a spring mechanism to reduce the harsh feel of recoil, making shooting more enjoyable. The project costs under €200. This design is different because it is custom-made for the Benelli M4, whereas similar stocks exist for other shotguns. It is currently available.
