  • The Gist: Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon; students, staff, and local community directly affected.
  • Impact: Demonstrates legal carry and armed self-defense reducing active shooter harm; likely to fuel national debate on school safety, concealed carry in/near schools, and Second Amendment protections versus gun-free zone policies.

Shooting Deaths at Decade Low as U.S. Gun Sales Rise in 2026

U.S. shooting deaths hit a decade-low third-quarter total in 2026 while firearm sales increased. Here’s what the latest crime and gun sales data reveal.

Gun Violence Archive data through Q3 2026 shows 9,790 shooting deaths and 18,199 injuries nationwide, with Q3 recording 3,301 deaths—the lowest in over a decade of tracking. Multiple states (California, Florida, New Jersey, Nebraska) reported their lowest shooting totals since 2015. Firearm sales rose modestly by about 2% year-over-year, reaching an estimated 10.6 million units through three quarters, continuing a rebound after prior declines.

  • The Gist: All 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C.; several states including California, Florida, New Jersey, and Nebraska at lowest shooting totals since 2015.
  • Impact: Historic downward trend in gun violence and homicide rates (lowest since at least 1900 per multiple analyses) coincides with expanded Second Amendment protections, permitless carry in states like Texas and Florida, and sustained high civilian firearm ownership/sales; contradicts prior predictions of increased violence from gun-rights reforms.
  • Bottom Line: U.S. gun violence and homicide rates have fallen sharply since the 2020-2021 peak to multi-decade or historic lows in 2025-2026 even as gun sales increased, with no single cause identified but broad declines across jurisdictions.

Ruger to Pause Blackhawk, Vaquero and Other Single-Action Revolvers

A broad cut to the Ruger lineupProduction of the current-generation LCR, SP101, GP100, and Bearcat is suspended immediately.Ruger says it will complete its final 2026 runs of the SR1911, LC Carbine, PC Charger, PC Carbine, LC Charger, Redhawk, Super Redhawk, Blackhawk, Super Blackhawk, Single-Series revolvers, Vaquero, No.1, 77-Series rifles, Hawkeye and Ruger Precision Rifle. That’s a broad cut, but the timing matters.

Ruger announced it will temporarily pause production of its single-action revolver lineup, including the Blackhawk, Vaquero, Wrangler, and Super Blackhawk models. The pause is attributed to current market conditions and inventory levels. Production of these models is expected to resume at a later date once demand stabilizes.

  • The Gist: Affects U.S. customers, dealers, and distributors of Ruger single-action revolvers (Blackhawk, Vaquero, Wrangler, Super Blackhawk, and related variants); no state-specific restrictions noted.
  • Impact: Reflects manufacturer response to softening demand for single-action revolvers; may lead to temporary shortages or higher secondary-market prices while production is paused, with no immediate regulatory or legal changes.
  • Bottom Line: Ruger is halting new production of its core single-action revolver models due to market saturation and inventory; the pause is temporary and production will resume when conditions improve.

  Jeremy, you’re muted.
My blood has not boiled, thereby, inducing road rage, while listening to the podcast in many months. This is because I have I have not listened to shirt-money-stealing Aaron and Jeremy fight and trifle over utter nonsense.
Our wives and girlfriends are more safe from getting hit on without him.
I would, however, like to hear from Aaron, when he finishes writing his book, which I presume is titled, “I Know Why the Caged Jew Sings”. Or perhaps he has changed the title to “Mein Autobus Kampfen ” (Translation: my struggle bus)
Five squares. No notes.PS. Jerombe, look up how to say the N word in sign language. You must do this on air
PPS. Aaron, if you have been fired (again) and need help editing your resume, I’d be happy to help for the low, low price of one firearm transfer
