*Bayonet Lug Attached Picatinny Rail for AKs* What it says on the tin. This little picatinny nugget slides onto your AK’s bayonet lug and tightens …

The BLAPR 47:3 is a 3D-printable CAD model for a Bayonet Lug Attached Picatinny Rail designed for AK-pattern rifles. It slides onto the factory bayonet lug and clamps securely with an M5 screw and nut (or M-Lok style t-nut), providing a short forward Picatinny section for mounting bipods, lasers, or other accessories. Files include 3MF (pre-oriented), FCSTD, STEP, STL, and reference JPG/PNG images showing mounted views; printed in PA6-GF due to barrel heat.
    • Why it Matters: Enables practical forward accessory mounting on classic AKMs without permanent modification or handguard replacement, preserving the original bayonet lug while adding modern optics or support options popular in the 3D-printed firearms accessory community.
    • The Vibe: Industrial DIY aesthetic—raw printed PA6-GF texture with visible layer lines, compact “picatinny nugget” form that blends with the AK’s utilitarian steel and wood lines, functional rather than polished, with mounted photos showing tight fit against the barrel and lug.
    • Hot Take: The hot take is that this simple clamp-on rail revives the underused AK bayonet lug as a legitimate modern mounting point, proving that the right 3D-printed part can make 70-year-old Soviet ergonomics competitive with today’s handguard ecosystems.

Armed citizen Jordan Salinas used a suppressed FN Five-seveN to return fire during the Twin Falls shooting. Police say his actions helped save lives.

On August 1, 2026, at an In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho, Jordan Salinas drew his suppressed FN Five-seveN pistol and returned fire against suspect Chad Williams, who was actively shooting with a rifle. An off-duty Idaho State Police trooper also engaged; their combined fire drove Williams away from the restaurant. Williams later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The incident resulted in three people killed and seven wounded. Law enforcement credited the armed citizen and trooper with preventing additional casualties.[[1]](https://www.ammoland.com/2026/08/armed-citizen-used-a-suppressed-pistol-to-save-lives-at-twin-falls-in-n-out/)– **Scope:** Incident occurred at a single In-N-Out Burger location in Twin Falls, Idaho, involving one armed citizen (Jordan Salinas), an off-duty Idaho State Police trooper, and gunman Chad Williams; no statewide policy or multi-jurisdictional legal action is described.
    – **Legal/Political Impact:** Article frames the event as an example of Second Amendment-protected self-defense and the value of armed citizens when police are not immediately present; Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks and Sheriff Jack Johnson publicly stated that the return fire helped drive the attacker away and saved additional lives; no new legislation, court ruling, or regulatory change is mentioned.
    – **The Bottom Line:** An armed citizen’s use of a suppressed FN Five-seveN pistol (with subsonic 5.7x28mm ammunition) in coordination with an off-duty trooper stopped an active shooter at a public restaurant, limiting further casualties before police arrival; the suspect died by suicide and the defenders were praised by local law enforcement.

A 13-year-old boy was wounded when a gunman opened fire in Montgomery County, Maryland’s Wheaton Mall Friday around 6:00 p.m.

On Friday around 6:00 p.m., a 17-year-old dressed in black with a hoodie sat at a table inside Wheaton Mall, waited for a group to walk by, then stood and opened fire. A 13-year-old boy was struck in the leg with a non-life-threatening wound; the suspect was apprehended by armed security and a handgun was recovered. The article notes Maryland ranks No. 8 nationally for gun-control stringency per Everytown for Gun Safety and lists multiple state restrictions including background checks, permits, and bans.– **Bullet 1: Scope (who/what states are affected):** Montgomery County, Maryland (Wheaton Mall); one 13-year-old victim and one 17-year-old suspect.
    – **Bullet 2: Legal/Political Impact:** Highlights Maryland’s strict gun-control regime (ranked #8 by Bloomberg-affiliated Everytown) including background checks, permits, assault-weapon restrictions, and other measures; notes the irony of the shooting occurring in a high-control jurisdiction.
    – **Bullet 3: The Bottom Line:** Armed mall security stopped the shooter before further harm; the 13-year-old’s injury was non-life-threatening and a handgun was recovered at the scene.

Milwaukee gun range removes Flock cameras after privacy concerns and viral video backlash.

Eagle Sports Range in the suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, removed Flock cameras that recorded license plates at the entrance to its parking lot. The cameras had been installed for more than six months in response to burglaries at local gun shops; the range stated it had no initial awareness of later privacy concerns. Removal followed a viral X video that garnered over 600,000 views and customer backlash; the range had attempted to remove them in February but was blocked by contract terms with Flock. The article notes similar Flock installations at other gun ranges in Florida and Wisconsin. Published August 10, 2026, by Cam Edwards on Bearing Arms.
    • The Gist: Eagle Sports Range (suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin); affects customers and visitors whose vehicles enter the parking lot; similar Flock systems noted at other gun ranges in Florida and Wisconsin.
    • Impact: Highlights tension between private business security needs after burglaries and Second Amendment-related privacy concerns over automated license plate recognition (ALPR) surveillance; range cited contract limitations with Flock and is now handling the agreement independently.
    • Bottom Line: After a viral video sparked widespread customer outrage, Eagle Sports Range removed the Flock cameras pointed at its parking lot entrance, stating “for now, the cameras are gone” while acknowledging it “had no idea the system would later be used in ways that cause serious privacy concerns.”

NC House Speaker says permitless carry bill may get veto override vote after November elections.

North Carolina’s permitless carry legislation (SB 50) passed the House over a year ago and saw the Senate successfully override Democratic Gov. Josh Stein’s veto, but the House has not yet taken an override vote. House Speaker Destin Hall stated that vetoed bills on the calendar, including this one, will be addressed for override “if we possibly can” when the legislature returns, potentially in a post-election special session before the end of the year. Republicans are one vote short of a veto-proof supermajority in the House, with at least two GOP members having voted against it initially and others absent.
    • The Gist: Scope (who/what states are affected): Affects North Carolina residents and concealed carry laws; SB 50 would implement permitless carry statewide if the House successfully overrides the gubernatorial veto.
    • Impact: Republicans hold majorities but lack a full supermajority in the House for override (needing additional votes or absences); the bill remains in limbo until after November elections, with potential for a special session; grassroots pressure is mounting on Speaker Hall and members to secure the necessary support before new legislators are sworn in January 2027. – Bullet 3:
    • Bottom Line: The veto override vote on SB 50 has not been scheduled despite Senate action; House leadership intends to pursue overrides of vetoed bills when possible, but success depends on marshaling Republican votes in a narrowly divided chamber.
  • The Truth About Guns (Savage)

ATF Director Robert Cekada is firing back at critics, arguing the agency’s proposed reforms protect gun owners without weakening safeguards.

ATF Director Robert Cekada, confirmed in April 2026, defends a package of approximately 34 regulatory reforms and rule rollbacks announced by the DOJ and ATF. These changes, issued under Executive Order 14206 on Protecting Second Amendment Rights, rescind or modify several Biden-era rules including the stabilizing brace rule, “Engaged in the Business” rule, bump stock rule, certain Form 4473 and record retention requirements, and NFA CLEO notification. Cekada emphasizes focusing enforcement on violent criminals and willful violators rather than inadvertent compliance issues by law-abiding owners and licensees.
    • The Gist: Nationwide impact on all federal firearms licensees (FFLs), gun owners, manufacturers, importers, and NFA item possessors in the United States; rescinds or revises prior ATF final rules and policies that applied universally.
    • Impact: Reduces regulatory burdens and compliance costs cited as inconsistent with the Second Amendment; shifts ATF enforcement priorities, draws criticism from gun-control groups like Everytown as “gun lobby giveaways” via executive action, and is welcomed by industry groups like NSSF; includes clearer definitions of “willful” violations and limits on record retention with no law-enforcement value.
    • Bottom Line: The reforms aim to protect lawful exercise of Second Amendment rights while maintaining focus on public safety and actual criminals; Cekada states he reads public comments, cannot repeal the NFA or GCA, but will fix legitimate burdens within existing law.

Armed citizens safely neutralize shotgun threat at a Utah gas station, highlighting defensive gun use.

In Riverton, Utah, a man denied alcohol purchase for lack of ID became irate, left a gas station, and returned armed with a shotgun. Two armed citizens fired on him before he could shoot; he exited the store and died from his wounds. Riverton police confirmed the citizens were cooperative; Utah self-defense law justified the use of deadly force against the imminent threat of unlawful force or a forcible felony.
    • The Gist: Riverton, Utah (approx. 20 miles south of Salt Lake City); affects local residents, gas station customers and clerk, and two unnamed armed citizens who intervened.
    • Impact: Upholds Utah statute allowing deadly force when reasonably believed necessary to prevent death, serious bodily injury, or a forcible felony from imminent unlawful force; reinforces legal permissibility of preemptive defensive gun use without requiring the attacker to fire first; highlights frequency of defensive gun uses (estimated 70,000+ annually) often overlooked by national media.
    • Bottom Line: Two lawfully armed citizens stopped a potential mass shooting at a Utah gas station by neutralizing an irate shotgun-wielding suspect before he fired, resulting in his death; the incident remains a local story illustrating the practical value of concealed carry under Utah self-defense law.
  • Bearingarms
In Riverton, Utah, a man denied alcohol purchase for lack of ID became irate, left, and returned armed with a shotgun. Two armed customers inside the gas station convenience store fired on him before he discharged his weapon; he exited and collapsed outside, dying from his injuries. No one inside was harmed. Riverton Police described the event as rare locally and referenced Utah’s self-defense statute justifying deadly force to prevent imminent death, serious bodily injury, or a forcible felony.
    • The Gist: Riverton, Utah (approximately 20 miles south of Salt Lake City); one gas station convenience store; two armed citizens and the shotgun-wielding suspect.
    • Impact: Demonstrates lawful use of armed self-defense under Utah statute allowing deadly force when reasonably believed necessary to counter imminent unlawful force or a forcible felony; police noted the incident underscores reasons for concealed carry while confirming the suspect did not fire first per updated reporting; no arrests of the citizens reported.
    • Bottom Line: Lawfully armed citizens stopped an armed threat at a Utah gas station before the suspect could fire, resulting in the suspect’s death and no injuries to store occupants; police called the event rare in Riverton.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE  August 13, 2026  GOA Members to Make History with First Suppressor Transfers Without NFA Registration Since 1934 Leander, TX — Gun Owners of America (GOA), along with lead plaintiff Silencer Shop, made history tonight as GOA members Brandon Herrera and Wes Virdell lawfully acquired suppressors without complying with the currently enjoined registration requirements of the National Firearms Act of 1934. The transfers … Read more

On August 13, 2026, at 12:01 A.M. CT, Gun Owners of America (GOA) members Brandon Herrera and Wes Virdell completed the first suppressor transfers at Silencer Shop in Leander, Texas, without National Firearms Act (NFA) registration. This followed the repeal of NFA suppressor restrictions in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, authored by Rep. Andrew Clyde, combined with a federal court order enjoining ATF enforcement of NFA provisions on suppressors. GOA and Silencer Shop notified the DOJ and ATF prior to the transfers.
    • The Gist: GOA members and Silencer Shop customers in all states where legal.
    • Impact: Restores Second Amendment rights by eliminating NFA registration and tax requirements for suppressors for the first time since the 1934 NFA; represents a major legislative and litigation victory against ATF enforcement.
    • Bottom Line: First suppressor transfer without NFA registration since 1934; ongoing efforts to fully repeal the NFA.
  • Breitbart
Attorney General Todd Blanche has finalized a Department of Justice regulation that creates an individualized application process for non-violent felons to seek restoration of their federal firearms rights. Applicants must demonstrate to the Attorney General’s satisfaction that they are not likely to act dangerously to public safety and that relief would not be contrary to the public interest; violent felons, registered sex offenders, illegal aliens, and those presenting ongoing danger remain presumptively ineligible. The rule applies only to federal prohibitions and does not override state-level firearm restrictions.
    • The Gist: Scope (who/what states are affected): The regulation applies nationwide to non-violent federal felons seeking restoration of federal gun rights under the Department of Justice and Attorney General; it excludes violent felons, registered sex offenders, illegal aliens, and individuals who present an ongoing danger to public safety. State-level firearm restrictions remain unaffected and continue to apply independently in every jurisdiction.
    • Impact: The rule implements a “rigorous, commonsense process” for case-by-case review, reversing prior blanket federal lifetime bans for qualifying non-violent offenders while maintaining a public-safety presumption; it is framed as upholding the Second Amendment as not a “second-class right” and provides a formal administrative pathway without altering underlying statutes or state laws. – Bullet 3:
    • Bottom Line: Non-violent felons now have a formal federal mechanism to petition for restoration of gun rights if they can prove they no longer pose a danger, but violent offenders and other high-risk categories remain barred and state prohibitions are unchanged.
  • Bearingarms
The Bearing Arms article critiques a New York Times piece targeting 2A YouTube influencer and Republican congressional candidate Brandon Herrera in Texas’s 23rd district. It highlights Herrera’s narrow 2024 GOP primary loss to incumbent Tony Gonzales, his 2026 primary win, and his substantial fundraising lead ($2.25 million vs. opponent Katy Padilla Stout’s approximately $500,000 through June). The “surprising fact” revealed is Stout’s admission that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is providing no support despite adding TX-23 to its target list, which she describes as a “toxic relationship.”
    • The Gist: Scope (who/what states are affected) The article and underlying NYT piece focus on Texas’s 23rd Congressional District (TX-23), affecting Republican candidate Brandon Herrera, Democratic candidate Katy Padilla Stout, and local voters in a district that supported Trump by 15 points in 2024 but saw higher Democratic primary turnout than Republican.
    • Impact: Legal/Political Impact The coverage underscores fundraising disparities, Giffords’ endorsement of Stout without accompanying spending, and the DCCC’s reluctance to invest, potentially signaling limited Democratic competitiveness in the district despite its target status; it also examines how media emphasis on Herrera’s edgy YouTube commentary (e.g., distinguishing jokes from policy on Shannon Watts) may serve as campaign assistance to his opponent.
    • Bottom Line: The Bottom Line The NYT article is portrayed as a partisan hit piece that inadvertently reveals the DCCC’s lack of support for Stout in a challenging district, while Herrera maintains a significant financial and primary-vote advantage.
  • Federal Court Injunction Takes Effect for B&T USA Customers (Savage)

A federal court injunction in Silencer Shop Foundation v. ATF took effect August 13, 2026, barring the ATF from enforcing NFA registration requirements for suppressors against B&T USA customers. The ruling eliminates Form 4 requirements for covered purchases while maintaining state law, background checks, and dealer requirements.

A federal court injunction in Silencer Shop Foundation v. ATF became effective on August 13, 2026. It bars the ATF and Department of Justice from enforcing National Firearms Act (NFA) registration and approval requirements for suppressors against named plaintiffs—including B&T USA—and their customers for new purchases. The ruling does not alter state laws, background checks, Form 4473 requirements, or regulations on other NFA items like machine guns; it is limited in scope, subject to appeal, and does not apply to prior purchases.
    • The Gist: Customers of named plaintiffs in Silencer Shop Foundation v. ATF, including B&T USA customers for new suppressor purchases (dealer or direct) made after August 13, 2026; not nationwide and does not cover all purchasers, prior transfers, short-barreled firearms, machine guns, or destructive devices; state laws restricting suppressors remain fully in effect.
    • Impact: Bars ATF enforcement of NFA suppressor registration (no Form 4, fingerprints, photos, registry entry, or approval wait) while preserving Gun Control Act requirements like background checks; ruling views the registration system as tied to a now-eliminated tax; case remains active and appealable to the Fifth Circuit, where a stay could reinstate requirements.
    • Bottom Line: Effective August 13, 2026, the limited injunction relieves B&T USA customers of federal NFA suppressor registration on new purchases but leaves state laws, background checks, and other NFA items unchanged; subject to potential stay on appeal.

Violent crime rates are dropping, contradicting claims of an ever-growing gun violence epidemic.

Bearing Arms columnist Tom Knighton criticizes Sandy Hook Promise’s August 15, 2026 tweet claiming gun violence is an ‘ever-growing public health epidemic’ in schools, arguing it ignores historic drops in U.S. violent crime rates reported for 2025 and continuing into 2026. The piece references a recent Virginia State University campus incident described as gang-related and notes Virginia’s recent passage of gun control laws. Knighton concludes that Sandy Hook Promise cherry-picks data and should not be taken seriously on gun policy.
    • The Gist: Affects U.S. national gun policy debate and organizations like Sandy Hook Promise; references Virginia State University incident and statewide gun control laws.
    • Impact: Challenges post-Bruen ‘more guns, more crime’ narrative by citing falling violent crime rates; accuses gun control advocates of ignoring data that undermines calls for further restrictions on Second Amendment rights.
    • Bottom Line: Violent crime is decreasing at historic rates despite claims of an ever-growing epidemic; Sandy Hook Promise’s position is based on cherry-picked data rather than comprehensive trends.

I dig the show, ever since I found my first episode I listened for 10 or 11 hours a day, 5 days a week until I was caught up. I haven’t heard a we like cooking segment in a while so here’s a recipe for Jeremy since he admitted that he likes spam.
Start with a toasted chocolate chip bagel, slather on some jalapeño cream cheese. Slice up your spam nice and thin, fry it up crispy like bacon. Add your preferred cheese and top with a nice over easy egg. Sounds not great but once you take that first bite and get that ooey gooey egg all over you’ll be hooked. My kids absolutely love when I make these, maybe yours will too. Keep up the good fight for freedom and thank you!
