- The Gun Owners of America (GOA) recently obtained a 35-page document through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request submitted to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in January 2020. The document, received in November 2024, reveals that the ATF has been monitoring online gun forums, social media websites, and law-abiding gun owners for over a decade, with an intelligence assessment on internet firearm sales dating back to November 2015.,The GOA claims that the ATF is abusing its power by targeting and harassing law-abiding citizens instead of focusing on actual criminals. The document shows that the ATF monitors lawful transactions and continues to surveil gun owners even after potential threats are deemed not credible. The ATF also misstates the law, claiming that greater anonymity in firearm purchases indicates a higher likelihood of violating federal law, despite Congress protecting gun owner privacy since 1986.,The ATF considers popular websites like Craigslist, AR15.com, Reddit, and Facebook as “unregulated marketplaces” and part of the “Deep Web,” actively monitoring posts on these platforms. The agency complains about the growing secondary market of used firearms and the difficulty in tracing them, and it expresses a preference for websites with no anonymity for gun sales.,The document lists Nicholas Spranza Jr., an ATF industry operations intelligence specialist, as a point of contact. The GOA previously encountered Spranza in a lawsuit challenging the ATF’s revocation of a Florida FFL’s license, where he allegedly harassed customers, seized business records without a warrant, and admitted to violating the law during a compliance inspection.,The GOA calls for the incoming Trump administration to rein in or eliminate the ATF, which they view as a rogue agency targeting Second Amendment rights. They also promote their annual convention, the Gun Owner Advocacy and Leadership Summit, to be held on August 9th and 10th, 2025, in Knoxville, Tennessee.
- Gun Control: Here We Go Again!
- Snope and Ocean State Tactical relisted for this Friday again. Not looking good.
- Colorado Commies – HEARING FOR SB25-003 ON WEDS MARCH 5TH HAS BEEN POSTPONED.
- This is now the SECOND time they have scheduled, only to call it off.
- These Colorado Commies are scared of the amount of active opposition to this bill and they know we mean business.
- Colorado House has passed a bill requiring ammunition to be stored under tight restrictions, much like cold medicine. This legislation is poised to impact the gun community by imposing new regulations on how ammunition can be stored, provoking pushback from those who believe it infringes on Second Amendment rights.
- A man was shot dead after mistakenly entering someone else’s apartment and kicking in the door. This incident adds fuel to the ongoing debate on self-defense laws and the right to protect one’s home, potentially impacting perspectives within the gun community regarding personal security and the use of firearms in defense situations.
- FBI Director Kash Patel has been sworn in as the Acting Director of the ATF, a development likely to fuel debates over gun control policies. His leadership could embolden the gun community, given the emphasis on Second Amendment rights amidst ongoing discussions of regulation.
- Legal arguments presented may impact future attempts to reinforce Second Amendment rights, raising concerns among gun advocates about potential restrictions and challenges to their freedoms. Gun control proponents might see this as a victory, but the debate rages on as the Second Amendment remains a point of contention.
- A new bill aims to put a stop to the ATF’s practice of publicly naming and shaming gun dealers, potentially protecting businesses from reputational harm due to government actions. This legislation could be a win for the gun community by pushing back against what is seen as overreach by gun control advocates.
- The CRPA is considering legal action against a California county for imposing excessively high fees for carry permits. This move reflects broader tensions between gun rights advocates and regulations perceived as hindrances to exercising Second Amendment rights. Increased costs for permits could deter responsible firearm ownership, highlighting ongoing disputes over gun control measures.
Reviews
- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – from Uvula Pounder – This show is one stick short of a faggot.
- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – from Rob K – Five Gold Squares!!!!!
One of the last or THE last review of 2024. If you have any interest in “firearms and firearms accessories” (Hank Hill heavy breathing) this is the podcast for you. I have been listening to We Like Shooting since March of 2019 and it was the best decision I ever made. This podcast is great to listen to while in the car driving or cleaning and oiling your prized possessions. Listeners feel like they are part of the conversation with the great discussions and banter. Hope this podcast stays on the airwaves for another 25 years!!! I think all listeners wish they had a friend like Jeremy—someone who tells you like it is, owns an amazing gun range, and will let you shoot all the machine guns (as long as you pay for the ammo)!!!! Hear you guys in 2025 Cheers!!!!
