ZERT Coffee & ChaosGive a big Lead Head Brigade welcome back to New York Times Best Selling Author Stephen Hunter! Stephen joins Lefty to talk about his new book The Bullet Garden: An Earl Swagger Novel. The long-anticipated origin story of legendary Marine and father of literary icon Bob Lee Swagger. Stephen gears us up for war and takes us to the European battlefields of World War II as Earl Swagger embarks on a top secret and deadly mission. We discuss Stephen’s motivation in bringing the spotlight of his writings to the 1940’s WWII era. We discuss the research that went into bringing the realistic details to the landscapes, weapons and characters of The Bullet Garden. On the lighter side of the conversation Lefty and Stephen talk about SHOT Show, Dirty Martinis (why the 3rd Olive is the best!), Stephen’s appreciation of firearms, Ernest Hemingway, and much more!
Stephen Hunter has written over twenty-five novels. He retired as the chief film critic for The Washington Post, where he won the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Distinguished Criticism, he has also published two collections of film criticism and a nonfiction work, American Gunfight. His book Point Of Impact was made into the hit 2007 movie Shooter staring Mark Wahlberg
