Logistics:
Group meals for breakfast & dinner. Food & drinks were on your own. We camped at Gold Bar Group Campground 10 miles out of Moab. It was right on the Colorado River (mention lack of water, bugs, & racoons). No cell service in camp.
Thursday
Coy & Aaron left after work and made it about 250 miles. Camped in a parking lot for a hiking trail system we found on iOverlander. Coy spends his first night in his Aluma-lot lizard & Aaron sleeps in his swag tent.
Allen left a few days prior to do some trails with a Jeep group.
Friday
Left early, put in a 12 hour day of driving. Made it almost 600 miles. Camped at a city campground in the middle of Lehi, UT, Just south of Salt Lake City. Went to dinner at the Garage Grill.
Josh left Ohio This afternoon and started rolling across the US
Rick & Oregon Josh left mid-afternoon & made it to the Idaho/Utah border.
Cody Left Southern California late PM.
Saturday
Left around 7 am for our last 220 miles to the campground. Made it to camp at 11:15. Immediately started setting up camp & unloading our rigs so we could hit the trails as soon as others showed up.
Rick & Josh showed up at noon and Allen around 12:30.
No one else shows up yet so we hit the trail. Backwards Bill. rattlesnake hill steep decent, wipeout hill Aaron does the hard line, Merrim Butte side hill section, uranium arch.
Cody shows up around 3pm while we are on the trail. Cody brought the cutest puppy.
Josh & his father in law showed up around 10:45pm. Full moon
Smoked pizza for dinner
Sunday
Ran Trifecta, Poison Spider, Golden Spike, & Gold Bar Rim. Added Where Eagles Dare. Drove out on Gemini Bridges road past Gooney Bird.
Aaron’s Nissan throws
over & over. Also a caliper bolt falls out and another is loose.
Coy blows shock off of the mounting point. Drives the rest of the trail with a tree strap as a limiting strap as a precaution to make sure the spring doesn’t fall out.
Ryan Showed up.
Smoked Lasagna for dinner
Monday
Repairs all morning, Coy gets a JK front shock from O’reily’s. Aaron spends 100 in a/c parts. Starts hells revenge late morning, good josh flops, Allen tries Mickey’s hot tub, Coy’s winch stops, unknown cause
Ohio Josh goes up the escalator. Hells gate, Mickey’s hot tub, devils hot tub, car wash [the easy hot tub}, dragon’s tail.
Met Faron, also from Oregon, in a 5th Gen 4Runner on 35s, locked F&R.
Finished the day at a local swimming hole just outside of Moab, Mill Creek
Pulled pork tacos with Coy’s famous garbage dip
