- KGW8 – Toyota recalling 381,000 Tacoma pickups because parts can fall off rear axles, increasing crash risk
- The recall covers certain trucks from the 2022 and 2023 model years.
- Toyota said in a statement Tuesday that welding debris left on the ends of the axles can cause some nuts to loosen over time and eventually fall off.
- That can cause the part to separate from the axle, which can affect stability and brake performance.
- Toyota wouldn’t say if there have been any crashes or injuries caused by the problem.
- Dealers will inspect the rear axles and tighten retaining nuts at no cost to owners. Any damaged components will be repaired or replaced.
- Customers will be notified by mail in late April, the company says.

Main Topic
Turns out that Toby Keith absolutely LOVED our podcast and when he died last month he left us each a lot of money. The strange part about the gift is that there was a warning and a condition attached to the money. The condition was that we had to build a bug out vehicle that could get us across the country to Florida. The warning was that the zombie apocalypse was coming. While we thought this might just be a funny joke because we all know that Toby Keith was a big joker.
It turns out that it wasn’t. As we spent our new found money each building out our rigs the warning signs started to show. We finished our rigs just in time to batten down the hatches and hit the road for Florida. It turns out that some people in Florida were also planning ahead and had also been given loads of money from Toby Keith. They had started fencing off the northern half of the state using shipping containers stacked 2 high.

I rented a 500 gallon water tank on a trailer from the local rental store. Hid it under some plywood to look like a crappy homemade camp trailer. I drained it and got it all dried out and filled it with gasoline. Now I only have to make one stop. Bonus, The trailer has a pump on it to not only transfer the fuel but I have also rigged it to several nozzles around the trailer and added a flamethrower exhaust kit that I bought off of ebay for $200.
