MAIN TOPIC
Trip 1 Sunday through Wednesday
Day 1- Drive to Nevada & camp at a very remote reservoir. Angry land owner. 26* at night. 18* when waking up. Frozen Nalgene Heater ran out of propane.
Day 2 – Drive just a few miles to the next site. 7,000’ elevation at a trail head for a chain of lakes. Chewed the fat with a Forest Service crew who was making the trail easier. Fish truck & honey Bucket truck couldn’t get up there. Looking in the pit toilet proved that! Only 1 other rig at the campsite. Cloudless sky was amazing. Moon was so bright it was casting dark shadows.
Day 3 – Drive to last campsite, Willow Hot Springs in SE Oregon. Came across an awesome mine. Lunch in Denio Junction, NV. Checked out some cool homesteads. Soaked for 2.5 hours in the hot springs chatting with some randos. Learned about boat building and gold mines.
Day 4 – Drive home. Left at 9am Fields for a milkshake. Hines for lunch at Boomers. Stop over at CVT. Through Detroit & Mill City to look at the forest fire damage. Home by 8pm.
