Yall are my new favorite podcast. Regular dudes with families that love the outdoors… and aren’t infected by left coast crazy. Our little family is getting into tent camping from camper glamping. Our jeep is an 07 JKU Rubi in red. We call it the Red Raggin’ because it only works 3 weeks out of the month. As soon as the 2024 tacoma drops we are ordering a TRD Offroad. Quick question…. how do you know where to go when starting out? We (me,wife and 2 kids) are planning a Grand Canyon trip for next spring…. how do you know where to overland, camp, and things to do close to your campsite ( walking/ riding distance) without ever being there beforehand? How do you secure your campsite? We are kinda lost as to the do’s and don’ts.

News brought to you by Colby Valve
- The Drive – Honda Ridgeline Outsells the Jeep Gladiator
- Jeep Gladiator isn’t exactly a poor seller, but it hasn’t been the Wrangler-level runaway success that Jeep hoped for. In fact, a serious slide in sales this year means it‘s actually being outsold by the longtime punching bag of midsize pickup trucks: the Honda Ridgeline.
- Stellantis announced that it had sold 27,326 Gladiators through June, a 29% drop—down by more than 11,000 trucks over the same period last year. By contrast, Honda’s pickup leapt 38 percent from last year’s first half, reaching 27,430 to pip Jeep by just 104 sales.
- The Drive – Ford Maverick Outsells Every Midsize Truck Except Toyota Tacoma
- 2022 was its first full year of production, and Ford managed to sell 74,370 Mavericks in that time. That wasn’t enough to satisfy demand, either, because some dealers were marking these up so much that you could buy another at MSRP for the asking price.
- Ford managed to sell 42,499 examples of its tiny truck so far in 2023, an increase of nearly 10% versus this time last year.
- The Maverick outsold nearly every midsize pickup—the Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, Honda Ridgeline, Jeep Gladiator, and Nissan Frontier. It even appears to have perhaps cannibalized sales of the Ford Ranger as well. The only midsize truck that it didn’t beat was the Toyota Tacoma, the segment’s longtime reigning king.
