• Two weeks ago duck hunt with Chicken friend beef recap
• Sunday and Monday duck hunts – First off, theme is: moar different optic.  Why?
• Sunday- theme was wind and icebergs.  Bugged out, went to road hunt the river.  Only a few flocks, with two of the few within sight of anglers.  The second set looking back,  I shoulda gone after.  Spotted the one set on my next loop, parked and hunted em.  Downed one.  Second set I spotted, they were in a great spot for a stalk.  But I gone and fucked that up….
• Monday- theme was I was bored so I drove the river.  Only found one set and I gone and fucked that up.
• Lessons learned: that’s why we do this.
• Recipes.  We got asked about that a couple weeks ago, I said I’d go into it more and forgot.  Let me not forgot here.

• Youth Pheasant Hunt
  • Kids were great shots
  • Shot out at the new shooting range
  • Lots of birds and 1 very excited puppy
• Daughters first deer season opened up on Sunday
  • Hunted our asses off and she was a trooper
  • Saw jack shit til last light
• I discovered a new nifty thing

• Controlled hunt nonsense
• E-scouting and likely spots
• The morning sit, little bucks and turkey
• New area, for late morning
• Success
• The long walk out, mistakes were made
• Skunked in the afternoon
• The weigh-in

• Camping and Hunting at Three Rivers WMA
• Got there at night and got the camp set up, hunted next morning, 
• Notes on sleep system, future changes
• Lots of activity(human) and pressure, gun shots all around
• Set-up blind in the same spot from last year, where we have seen bunches of deer
• …saw nothing there
• Watched a deer across a draw, tried to get a shot but no dice
• Day two, deer, coyote, and suppressors
• Day three coyote time
• Day four: a big nothing
• Did lots of walking, scouting, saw much fewer deer than in past seasons, no rut activity, scrapes untended
• …then the day after

• Ye olde campsite has been cleaned up
• Notes on the current climate
• Had a sit for a bit before heading home
• Sat out behind the house the next morning and found some mercy

• Good place to bring up any news and legal updates surrounding hunting?
