Week In Review:

Ryan: -Back from a short hiatus; been a busy few weeks. In the space of a week, water heater died out, that same day, the fridge died out. So new fridge delivered and installed, new water heater installed.

-Installing a new 1TB SSD for my PS5. Installed an external hard drive but you can’t play PS5 games directly from it, only archive them. 

-Been doing some fishing with Connor! Actually going to go after we record. Haven’t had much luck but hoping to change that. Done rivers mostly but theve been fast and high.

-Cut the hell of out my thumb. Nice meat cleaver action!

-October Road Trip!

Main Topic: Developmental Dead Ends

I have an idea for a show topic. Guns of the future that wasn’t/or has yet to come. I think this is great, because yall can dive into the developmental dead ends of the firearms industry. I think this could act as a platform to talk about what yall think was truly a dead end and what may be brought forward into future development.

I took a day to think this over and compiled a list of examples that I think are fitting:

The Dardick (trounds and revolving “cylinder”)

Calico (helical magazine) Stuff and Things

Mars automatic (desert eagle part 1)

Frommer Stop (my personal favorite)(long recoil handguns)

Jo.Lo.Ar and others (single hand chambering firearms)

Webley-Fosbury/Mataeba Unica 6 (recoil operated revolvers)

Beretta 92 (this is just D.Od bait)

Last is a big list with all of the attempts at caseless ammunition:

HK G11

Daisy V/L (the only ‘successful’ one in my opinion)

Volcanic (arguably the second most successful attempt)

Gyrojet
