Week In Review:

Weerd:

 

Conventional Oven Naan

• 1/4 Cup sourdough starter (if you don’t do sourdough you can sub in about two tablespoons plain yogurt and a quarter teaspoon of dry yeast) 
• 2 cups AP Flour 
• 1 Cup whole milk 
• 1 teaspoon kosher salt 
• 1 tablespoon oilive oil or Gee

 

• mix until all ingredients are combined, cover and let rise for about 8 hours (it can be refridgerated for up to 24 hours after this first rise to best coordinate the timing)
• Once mixture has doubled in size, pre-heat your oven as high as it’ll go (mine does 550…..and if you can also turn on your broiler, all the better) Grease a baking sheet lightly with oil and with a spoon spoon the batter onto the sheet and spread it thin into the desired shape and size you want for your bread (they will expand slightly so make sure to give them a little expansion room. At this point if you want to top them you can. Chopped garlic, or Nigella (Colanji) seeds are common Put them in the top rack of the hot oven under the broiler and check frequently. After about 5-10 mins, the breads will puff and start to toast, once they show a little color take them out and enjoy! (edited)
• (They can also be topped with sauce and cheese and toppings and put back under the broiler to make Naan pizzas)
