Beretta 92/M9 Misinformation
I’m a longtime listener to Handgun Radio Podcast. I’ve enjoyed the show especially when the subject is Revolvers. I like listening to “Weerd Beard”, but I’m growing tired of the Beretta 92/M9 misinformation he continues to pass along to the listeners. I don’t mind if he doesn’t like the pistol, but justifying his dislike with misinformation is wrong. I don’t have room to list each incorrect statement, so I invite him to watch the following.
Listener Chuck:
In the import restrictions episode, Makarovs came up.
My recollection is, real milsurp Makarovs came in with “target grips”, with a thumb shelf. The original grip was sometimes (usually?) included.
Russian Makarovs made for commercial sale would come with an adjustable rear sight.
Listener CS:
Ryan and Weird,
In two of your recent episodes of Handgun Radio you guys talked about the Henry Homesteader and in both cases the majority of the discussion was why glock mag compatibility is optional and not standard. I have NEVER bought a gun based on whether or not it uses glock mags. Someday I’ll probably own a glock and it will use glock mags. The second time that the Henry Homesteader was discussed Weird said that he had actually fired one! No mention of useful information like: trigger feel, accuracy, feeding issues, ammo fussiness, ect…, no it was glock mags again.
I was recently fortunate enough to get my hands on an M1 Garand; imagine my disgust when I discovered that it didn’t use glock mags!
Thanks for all your Podcasts!!
