Been enjoying the new radio in the truck. Been on DStar quite a bit. Still chasing deer around. Gonna put a little more meat in the freezer before I start going to Arkansas duck hunting.

Farm: crops in, feeding hay because it’s so cold,

Armed Citizen
A Chicago, Ill., couple defended themselves when an alleged robber managed to enter their seventh-floor condo via scaffolding on Monday, Oct. 10, 2022.

Around 3 a.m. that morning, one of the couples woke up and began her morning routine. During this, she thought she heard strange noises but assumed that they were coming from a nearby unit. She had completed her routine and was about to leave, when she entered the bathroom and came face-to-face with an intruder, who had gotten in by climbing scaffolding set up just off their balcony. The intruder punched the woman in the eye, and she pushed back. Falling to the floor, the woman began fighting off the intruder while yelling for her still-sleeping fiancé.

Awakened by his partner’s screams, the fiancé rushed into the bathroom and pushed the intruder off of her, telling her to run back to the bedroom and fetch his gun. She did so, and the couple held the intruder at gunpoint until police arrived. It was discovered that the intruder had already taken some of their possessions and had seven prior felony convictions against him from past crimes. (cwbchicago.com, Chicago, Ill. 10/12/2022)
